As good as new
AeroGlow was recently awarded a contract to renew the insulation on XS646, a historic Hawker Sidley Andover aircraft. This was a huge undertaking as the plane, dating back to the early 1960s, had to be completely overhauled and rebuilt. The installation of approximately 130 acoustic and thermal insulation panels completed the refurbishment.
The age of the aircraft meant:
- each panel had to be individually manufactured
- hand finishing had to be carried out on-site
Each insulation panel contained:
- a non-combustible sound reduction layer
- flameproof material conforming to EASA Specification (CS25.853A) app F part (a) 1 (i)
- all the panels were sewn using Nomex thread
AeroGlow is uniquely placed to assist owners or operators of other aircraft requiring similar refurbishment:
Advanced Image Analysis
We also offer a highly specialised service using a range of advanced image analysis software to extract data from historic photographs, legacy paper drawing and old film and microfiche.
Our expert techniques can provide the data required during the refurbishment of older aircraft and commissioning replacement parts where no current usable drawings are available.
We can work with any quality of legacy images and recover data from the poorest of documents and we can integrate the extracted data with current CAD systems.
