File a flight plan
We believe that it is both sensible and courteous to tell people where you’re intending to fly, so we are giving away pilot logs as a pdf download to enable you to do just that.
In uncontrolled airspace, a flight plan is not a legal requirement but the safety implications of NOT filing one are obvious. Once you have planned your route, it makes sense to file your plan with any flying clubs or airfields that you will be passing.
Fax or call your local Flying Club or Air Traffic Control centre if you are flying from a private site or hand your flight plan in at your Flying Club if you are flying from there. Everyone will then know where you are, so if there are any problems, you will be easily located.
However long your flight, our message is: File a flight plan.
