Fit to fly
Before you are allowed to fly a plane, you need to have certification from a doctor recommended by the Civil Aviation Authority. It will not be sufficient to go to your local doctor to have a medical.
This certification applies to professional flight crew as well as private pilots and air traffic controllers.
To find a list of approved doctors, please visit the Civil Aviation Authority website (www.caa.co.uk) where you will find a list under AMEs, Approved Medical Examiners.
